Both git clone and pip install have connection issues when being ran as bitcoin user. They can run without issue as admin, but not bitcoin. Circumventing the git clone issue was easy enough, I just moved the cloned directory to the correct location after clone and used chown bitcoin:bitcoin -R, but pip install issue is more difficult to circumvent.
